Just finished building our first e-commerce site selling cushions, sofa throws and bed throws, although we've built them before when we've been working for other companies, this is the first we've build as i-glu. To be honest it went very smoothly.

We used PayPal as our client wanted to keep costs down and PayPal really is a lot cheaper than most of it's rivals. It also benefits from the fact that your client doesn't need to have an Internet Merchant Account Number. The whole of the payment process takes place on the PayPal site and the beauty of this is that the client and their site don't need to worry about holding their customers' data. So although it's a secure site with a registration and login if customers wish to purchase, there is no worries about credit card details being hacked or stolen.

We provided our client with a catalogue and content management system so they can upload new products themselves, changed the prices of their products and upload new imagery for each product as and when they need.

Another neat little feature was a communication system which we set up which allows them to write an html email with imagery and their own choice of formatting and send the e-newsletter to all their customers. So if they want to have a sale for example, they could let everyone know about it very easily.
